InTRES The international Platform ‘Integrative and Transformative Research on Earth and Societies’
InTRES is established to foster inter- and transdisciplinary research on the interlinkages between the Earth system and societies. It aims at generating system, target and transformative knowledge to lower societal pressures and risks according to Earth Boundaries and global development goals in the context of the Anthropocene.
The spectrum of research activities ranges from conceptual and methodological foundations of the emergent research to empirical studies and transformation experiments. The research results, innovations and transformation pathways as well as transfer products are supposed to finally contribute to sustainability transformations in the Global North and South across spatial and temporal scales and societal levels.
The platform is open to all interested researchers and facilitates collaboration between international colleagues with competences in the natural and social sciences. Furthermore, it engages in the tailored dialogue with societal actors from politics and administration, economy and civil society.
