An online event on 25 June 2026 officially launches the international platform ‘Integrative and Transformative Research on Earth and Societies’ (InTRES), which will foster inter- and transdisciplinary research on Earth-society interlinkages in the Anthropocene. The aim is to generate system, target, and transformation knowledge that drives sustainability transformations across spatial scales and societal levels.

The platform is open to researchers and institutes worldwide, aiming to bridge diverse scientific backgrounds and engage in tailored dialogues with societal actors. The Leibniz Research Network ‘Earth & Societies’ serves as host.

The launch event will introduce the platform's principal approach. Leading international experts in the field, such as Johan Rockström, co-chair of the Earth Commission, will contribute with key messages.
